Hi everyone,
Sorry about all the pricing updates. This will be the last one for a while, promise.
I am giving myself a big raise. On November 1, the price for an annual subscription will be increasing to $320 and the price for a quarterly subscription will be increasing to $120. The hike applies to new and existing subscribers, and will take effect on your upcoming renewal. For instance, if you subscribe to the annual plan on, say, Oct. 10, 2024, you will pay $270 for access until Oct. 10, 2025, at which point your annual subscription will be renewed at $320.
When I launched scuttleblurb nearly 8 years ago, I had no idea who my readers would turn out to be and didn’t give the matter much thought. At the time, I could just as easily envision an casual investor reading this blog as I could a dedicated professional. Today, I have a much better sense. A few years ago, in response to a poll I circulated, close to 70% of you identified as professional investors and I suspect that percentage is even higher today. I am re-setting prices to a level that more closely reflects the value that particular audience gets from the type of work I do.
There are countless newsletters that will gladly indulge one’s craving for actionable stock tips and offer definitive answers to complex questions. This isn’t one of them. My blog is a research diary, written for those looking to sharpen the lens through which they analyze companies. If you are someone who prefers nuance to stridency, and enjoys the process of examining trade-offs and competing arguments, scuttleblurb is, in my opinion, a terrific value, even at $320 a year.
I hope you stick around!
David
Still a steal! 💚 🥃
